The table below lists a general nutritional guideline that will fit most dogs. Nutritional advice is also stated on the various product pages of this website and our packaging.
Dogs often eat more than they really need, making it easy to gain weight. So do not overfeed your dog so that you become overweight. Make sure your dog shows fit and lean with good muscles. It is best to regularly adjust the feeding amount slightly to your dog's needs.
Below this table are also some practical tips that you can use to best estimate your dog's food needs.

* Young puppies up to about half their adult weight (4 to 8 months old) about 1.5 - 2 times the amount for an adult dog as listed in the table.
It is wise to weigh the puppies weekly and adjust the amount of food to their current weight. For puppies and young dogs, meals should be given throughout the day.
Example 1: a puppy weighing 5 kg. Weighs at 3 months old should get about 1.5 to 2 times the approx 75 grams spread over the day. So between 112-150 grams total spread over the day.
Example 2: a young dog weighing 20 kg. Weighs at 6 months old should get about 1.5 to 2 times the approx 200 grams spread over the day. So between 300-400 grams in total spread over the day.
* Half grown dogs that are nearly adult need 10% to 20% more than a fully adult dog's needs.
* Overweight and older dogs can get up to 15% less than stated in the table.
* Highly active dogs or dogs in outdoor kennels may require up to 20% more than stated in the table.
Then divide the daily amount over several small portions per day.
* Pregnant bitches can be fed normal amounts until about the fifth week of pregnancy. During the last four weeks, about 20% to 50% of the normal amount should be fed extra. Lactating bitches may (depending on the number of puppies) need up to about 250% of the normal amount of extra food. Then divide the daily amount over several servings per day.
